[Notice] 2020-1 International Student Scholarship Application

Undergraduate or the Graduate School (“일반대학원”) students who are interested in Spring 2020 International Student Scholarship (ISS) may apply as indicated in the details below.

 

Recipients of the ISS M (Merit-based) scholarship for UNDERGRADUATE students are selected by the school administration based on one’s academic performance(GPA). Therefore, students DO NOT need to apply.

 

Starting from Fall 2016, ISS M is now eligible for undergraduates who have entered via special admission for international students ("외국인특별전형").

 

1. How to Apply

2. Application Period

- 9:00 Monday, January 6, 2020 ~ 23:50 Wednesday, January 15, 2020

 

3. Scholarship Results

- Results will be notified around mid-February 2020, or earlier.

- Results will be notified individually by your “@ewhain.net” email ONLY, so please make sure to check your “@ewhain.net” email account regularly. If you do not send a reply for our result notification e-mail, your scholarship will be cancelled.

 

4. Types of Scholarship and Requirements

Students who meet the following criteria:

    Undergraduate registered students who have entered via special admission for international students

    Students who earned 15 credit hours without failure in Fall 2019 semester

(If the students take Korean courses, they may be eligible for the scholarship with only 12 credit hours earned.)

    Among the students satisfying the qualifications above, students who have higher GPA among international students have priority to be selected

    Students who have medical insurance valid in Korea and have their insurance notified to ISA

    Students who have TOPIK 4 or above (Exception: Students majoring in International Studies)

* What is an Online-Ambassador? Online-Ambassadors are students who promote Ewha Womans University using SNS, delivering information regarding life at Ewha, admissions info, and so forth. ISA selects these ambassadors among ISS V scholarship candidates.

 

5. ISS V Eligibility

- Foreign students in undergraduate or the Graduate School (일반대학원) programs who will register for regular courses for Spring 2020

- Students who have medical insurance valid in Korea

· Your insurance information must have been notified to ISA.

· Students must hold a Medical Insurance that is effective in the semester you apply for ISS scholarships.

If expired, please have your insurance renewed.

· If you have purchased private/national insurance individually, you must submit the copy of your insurance certificate to ISA.

· If you are checked as a student without a medical insurance after the submission of the application, you will be automatically

excluded from the screening list

- Students who have earned at least 10 credits (undergraduate) / 6 credits (graduate) during 2019-Fall semester

- Students whose GPA of 2019-Fall semester is 2.0 (out of 4.3) or above.

· If your GPA of 2019-Fall does not meet the requirement after the submission of the application,

you will be automatically excluded from the screening list.

- Students who updated their bank account information on Eureka system.

· You can update your bank account information by yourself at Eureka-Academic Affairs-Student Information-My Bank Account.

· If you are checked as a student without a bank information on Eureka after the submission of the application, you will be

 automatically excluded from the screening list.

-Students can receive other scholarships along with ISS M unless the accumulated amount of the scholarships does not exceed tuition.

-Disbursed at the end of June 2020 or August 2020 (subject to change)

7. Please read

- When you are selected as V3 Scholarship recipients, you will work as a voluntary assistant at ISA and other ISA-related offices, 60 hours per semester.

- It is extremely important that you follow your schedule. You will not be able to re-schedule after it’s finalized. Also, if you do not comply with the set schedule or repeatedly request a re-schedule, you may mark yourself down for future scholarship application, and may be revoked of your scholarship for this semester.
