1. [국민건강보험]
D-2 비자 소지 외국인 유학생은 2021년 3월 1일부터 국민건강보험에 당연가입됩니다(한국에 최초 입국하는
미등록 외국인의 경우: 2021년 3월 1일 이후 외국인등록일부터). 국민건강보험에는 자동 가입되며, 별도의 신청 절차는 없습니다. 국민건강보험공단에서 배부한 첨부1을 다운로드하여 세부사항을 반드시 꼼꼼히 확인하시기 바랍니다. 건강보험료 납부 관련하여 국민건강보험공단에서 별도의 안내가 있을 예정이며, 이 안내에 따라 보험료를 매월 납부해야 합니다.
* 1번 첨부파일 4페이지: 연 소득금액(연구지원비 포함)이 360만원을 초과하는 경우 보험료 경감 대상에서 제외되며, 소득에 따라 보험료는 달라질 수 있습니다. 이에 대한 자세한 사항은 국민건강보험공단으로 문의하시기 바랍니다.

2. [민간보험]
모든 외국인 유학생은 민간보험에도 필수로 가입해야 합니다.
학교 지정 민간보험에 가입하고자 하는 경우 첨부2를 확인하여 가입신청을 완료하시기 바랍니다. 학교 지정 보험가입 시 보험증서 제출은 불필요합니다.
다른 민간보험에 이미 가입되어 있거나 가입 예정인 경우, 보장내역이 기재된 보험증서를 ewhaglobal@ewha.ac.kr 로 제출하여 주시기 바랍니다.

[해외 체류자]
- 2021-1학기 한국에 입국하지 않을 예정인 학생은 국민건강보험에 가입할 의무가 없으며 가입이 불가능합니다. 국민건강보험에는 다음 입국일 (또는 외국인등록일) 기준으로 자동 가입됩니다.
- 한국에 체류하지 않는 학기에는 해외 현지 보험에 가입되어 있다는 증명서를 제출(ewhaglobal@ewha.ac.kr)하여야 하며, 증명서는 한국어 또는 영어 서류만 인정됩니다.
All international students at Ewha are required to enroll in BOTH ”A” and “B” health insurance plans below.
A. [National
Health Insurance (NHI)]
International
students holding a D-2 visa will automatically be enrolled in the Korean
National Health Insurance (NHI) as of March 1, 2021 (students entering Korea
for the first time and not registered as foreigners: will be enrolled as of
their foreigner (or “alien”) registration date, but on or after March 1). There is no separate application procedure for enrollment in
the NHI as students will be enrolled automatically.
* Page 8 of attachment 1: Insurance fee reduction is only applied to students with an annual income of 3.6 million KRW or less; this income includes research funds provided by the university. The actual insurance fee is subject to change depending on each individual’s income. Please contact the NHIS for further information regarding this matter.

B. [Private Health Insurance]
All international students must also enroll in a private health insurance plan.
Students willing to enroll in a private insurance plan designated by the university must carefully read attachment 2 and the information below to proceed with enrollment procedures. There is no need to submit insurance certificates to the university upon completion of enrollment in this plan.
Students already enrolled in or intending to enroll in an alternative private insurance plan with comparable coverage must submit their proof of insurance with coverage details via email to ewhaglobal@ewha.ac.kr.

[Information for students residing overseas]
- Students not intending to enter Korea in the spring semester of 2021 will NOT be and are NOT obligated to enroll in the NHI. They will be automatically enrolled as of their next date of entry into Korea (or as of their next date of foreigner registration).
- During the semester they are not residing in Korea, proof of insurance with coverage details in their country of residence must be submitted via email (ewhaglobal@ewha.ac.kr); proof of insurance must be provided in Korean or English.
